Held Phantom race gloves are top of the line road race gloves with the palms (double layer) and the back of the gloves made from Kangaroo hide. Kangaroo hide is lighter, more flexible and has at least twice the abrasion resistance when compared to cow leather. Kangaroo leather stays soft even after getting wet or damp, stiff gloves are a thing of the past, these stay soft and comfortable no matter what. Kangaroo is also thinner so you get a much improved feel with these gloves over competing cow leather products, many of the riders who wear these comment on how much more feel they got wearing the Held Phantoms over other top of the range gloves.
The Held Phantom is a full gauntlet glove offering full protection to the forearm with multiple carbon fibre panels on the gloves in key locations in case of an off. Held have also used stingray hide, yes that's right stingray (as in the fish) hide on the high impact areas such as the tops of the little fingers and the palm area. Stingray is very an extremely abrasion resistant material and we have several crash tests under our belts with these gloves and they have stood up to crashing extremely well.
The Held Phantom offers an adjustable wrist closure with Velcro that has a protection panel of Kangaroo hide over it to avoid it getting damaged in the event of a crash and the gauntlet closure is of course also adjustable with a nice panel of stretch material inserted to ensure the glove remains comfortable over the leathers.
The index finger also has a section of rubber material inserted in it for using as a visor wipe in wet weather, they thought of everything!
